Well, I’ve had a heart-to-heart talk with a few couples who were married to their spouses for decades and I can safely say that this gem of an article is congruent with the bulk of the wisdom I’ve gleaned from those conversations.
Before I leave you to read the article, consider how simple (and difficult!) it is to hold true to love’s promises from the oft-quoted words of Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians as a reminder to us all:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
