I’ve never been big on horoscopes and other types of descriptions/assessments based on your birthday, age, time, blood type and other horror-logical bases.
I must admit that I do indulge in the occasional Kokology quiz or two for novelty, but I’ve always been a bigger believer in personality profiles and character typing as a form of introspection & self awareness, career planning and life goal-setting.
Perhaps this might be what’s feeding my tendency to commit GLOP sometimes – whoops! :p
Besides the tried-and-tested Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (commonly known by its acronym of MBTI) test (I always refer friends to this online one), I’ve admired companies that do the due diligence of assessing potential candidates’ fit with a personality test like the Air NZ one and more recently, the Reckitt Benckiser one: http://profile.brandme.jobs/
Results, results, results
For the MBTI test, I’ve consistently ranked high on the Extroversion scale and been a ‘Feeling’ type of person. But, I’ve grown (likely due to work and life experiences) from an ESFP to an ENFP and now, an ENFJ Teacher type.
Air NZ (I believe this was based on the CANOE test…?)

Additionally, your ability to thrive in competitive environments gives you the thick skin necessary for such a career. Consultancy – You have an ability to convey your ideas enthusiastically to others, and to work hard to ensure positive results are achieved. You may be well suited for a management position, as you are highly driven to succeed and to motivate others to do the same. You work well under pressure and stay focused. Self-coaching tips: 1) Be sure to acknowledge that not everyone stays as calm as you under pressure, and may not respond well if you are over-demanding. 2) Be aware that you can’t always be in control and must sometimes face unknown situations, especially in order for a risk to pay off. 3) Your enthusiasm and bluntness in expressing your ideas may cause you to come across as arrogant. Try to take others’ ideas on board too, to avoid seeming overbearing or insensitive.
Try the tests out sometime – you might be surprised by the results, or learn something about yourself each time!
